First Look at T-Swirl Crepe; Wichita’s First Japanese Crepes Restaurant

After a month of many of the same types of restaurants opening in Wichita, something unique has finally arrived. T-Swirl Crepe is the city’s first Japanese crepe restaurant. Located at 2431 N. Greenwich Road, the chain with 30 locations across the country specializes in both sweet and savory crepes, each made with 100-percent gluten-free rice flour batter.

The options for crepes seem endless. There are 28 sweet and savory options to choose from, and many of them are on display as you walk inside. These concoctions and include everything from fruit, chocolate, and cheesecake to bacon, crab meat, short ribs and salads.

Between the three of us, we had the Chocolate Nut Party and the Strawberry Banana crepes from the sweet side of the menu. Then we had the Spicy Crab meat, Okinawa Hot Dog and the Thai Chicken from the savory side.

I’m not quite sure the pictures do it justice, but they were quite hefty and definitely filling.

Everybody loved the texture of the crepes, they were a bit crispier on the exterior in contrast to a French crepe, yet maintained that pillowy softness once you started to bite into it. There was no shortage of toppings within each crepe either.

Everyone had their favorites and for me, I love a good sweet crepe and the Strawberry Banana was pure bliss for my taste buds. We all enjoyed the crepes and for me, I was ecstatic to finally check out a restaurant with something brand new to offer.
