Park City finally has a sushi and hibachi restaurant with the arrival of Hiro’s Express. The new eatery is located at 1542 E. 61st St. in the former Ray’s Food Express space.
Some diners may be familiar with this place as the owners had Hiro Hibachi & Sushi that was in Haysville. They’ve since moved to Park City and rebranded themselves as Hiro’s Express.

I’ve been to Hiro Hibachi & Sushi so I had an idea of what to expect on my visit to Hiro’s Express. Much of what was available at the Haysville store could be found here; just at opposite ends of town.
Our dinner started with salmon karashi which was fresh salmon, avocado, mixed with spicy ponzu sauce. This appetizer, best for probably one person, was an instant classic for me. Everything aspect of the karashi complimented each other. It was a nice balance of sweet, sour, and salty in one bite. This would be a dish I’d order again for sure.
My daughter did not want any of the kids meals but requested a side of fried rice. It was very simple, and really not much to it. But, my daughter was eating it, so that’s all that mattered.
I went with two specialty rolls. The Pink Lady which was spicy tuna, cucumber, avocado, topped with tuna, red snapper, spicy mayo and eel sauce. I also had the Super Crazy Tuna Roll which was tuna, white tuna, avocado, cucumber topped with spicy tuna. I thought about changing one of the rolls to not feature tuna, but both sounded delicious, and a third roll would have been too much for me.
As expected, both rolls were fairly similar in flavor but still worthwhile. They were loaded with healthy chunks of fish and easily filled my happy belly up. Everything was satisfying from start to finish.
The service was fast and friendly as well. Hiro’s Express is definitely a nice addition to the Park City dining scene.
