Wichita Startup Week is back for its third year! Join us 4-6 p.m. Thursday, July 20 at Reverie Coffee Roasters for our Preview Party to learn about the program we’re putting together, meet our committee and share topics you want to see at Wichita Startup Week 2023! Wichita Startup Week, a part of Techstars, is presented by Koch Industries. Doors open at 4. Short program begins at 4:30. We’ll wrap up at 5, and the party goes until 6! When July heats up, cool down at our fun-filled Family ArtVenture celebrating our summer exhibition, Clearly Indigenous: Native Visions Reimagined in Glass. Enjoy free admission to the exhibition, a performance by Wichita War Dancer, glass blowing demonstrations, and artmaking. Beat the heat with a pop-up sprinkler installation in the Art Garden and enjoy free ice cream (while it lasts).

Summer Sol Fest is a Music and Arts Festival thrown by Odd Fellow Hall and Josue Estrada, located at Hidden Lake Venue (537 W. MacArthur Road Wichita, Kansas 67217). The event will take place Saturday July 22nd from 2PM to 12Am This is an all ages festival that will have activities for every age group! This Festival will include six LIVE BANDS, 10 local art vendors, food from Local Flavor and multiple food trucks, 3 Cocktail and Beer Bars curated by Odd Fellow Hall, cooling tents, water activities, a bounce house, face painting, and more!

■ Women Artist of the West 53rd National Juried Exhibition, “No Place Like Home” | July 22

Carriage House Factory Art Gallery
The Exhibition features 119 nationally recognized women artists who have been juried into this highly competitive exhibit. It will be held at the Carriage House Factory Art Gallery at 128 E. 6th Street in Newton, Kansas, 67114. This gallery, known as the ‘hidden gem’ of South-central Kansas, is housed in a two story National Historic Building, circa 1883, a former carriage/blacksmith shop that was rescued by the Newton Fine Arts Association. This year they proudly celebrate their 40th Anniversary. The gallery provides a beautiful and historic setting to showcase the juried work of some of America’s best contemporary women artists.

■ Battle of the Heartland! The Return of Roller Derby! | July 23
