If you’re driving near 29th and Tyler, you’ll notice construction taking place in a lot immediately south of the Casey’s at the southeast corner. Actually, there are two things being built at that intersection. One is a care center that’s moving along in a lot east of Casey’s. But the big one is what just broke ground recently to the south.
I’ve heard from a couple of sources that a new steakhouse is in development at that corner. And permits were pulled for a KVH Steakhouse for Greg Hiser who used to own Hangar One Steakhouse. According to Hangar One’s history page, Hiser’s parents’ names are Keith and Verna, which makes sense for the name KVH. If that’s the case, we are looking at a completely new local steakhouse for the area.
Things are still early, and not much is known. But I feel comfortable enough to share this one as I’m confident a steakhouse looks to be what’s coming.
If so, that’ll be a nice get for that area of town as restaurants are pretty scarce around Tyler Road along with Ridge Road, once you are north of 29th St., especially if you’re looking for a non-chain option. Plus, this could be a great neighborhood option for 29th and Tyler with plenty of neighborhoods within walking and biking distance.
Stay tuned for more.
