There was a plea to everybody on Facebook to go show some love to Bann Thai, and I was eager to join in on the fun.
I’ve said it many times that Wichita is blessed to have delicious Thai food in town. And one I try to visit a few times a year is this one over on west 13th street.

Bann Thai is a locally run Thai restaurant where it’s almost like a one-person show. Sometimes she has a limited staff with her and other times, it’s literally just her doing it all.
It’s something to keep in mind if you go, especially if you have a large party with you.
During my visit, there were a few other diners in there. The online plea mentioned the restaurant owner struggling. But after speaking with the owner, she did want to share that she’s been fairing well with to go orders and that things weren’t as bleak as they appeared. That was positive to hear.
For dinner, I had the pa-nang curry with chicken… mild because I wasn’t ready to have my stomach rumbling 30 minutes later. The dish was delicious as always. It was creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor; along with an aroma that tickled my senses.
Our city is full of restaurants and occasionally, there are ones that are forgotten about. I’m just as guilty as the next person. Bann Thai seems to be one of them, and every now and then, you need that reminder to go back.
Here’s your reminder.
