Thanks to Wichita Transit, the newest mobile star in Wichita isn’t a food truck, but it’s a “Book Bus”.

A retired vehicle was transformed into a Book Bus and it was unveiled earlier this month at the Advanced Learning Library.

The Wichita Public Library showed off the Book Bus, which is an outreach initiative to bring library services to areas of Wichita that don’t have quick access to a physical library location.

People who visit the Book Bus can get a library card and browse through a selection of mostly children’s books, some adult books, get access to Wi-Fi and return books.

The bus will make stops at parks, community events, and other locations such as the Boys and Girls Club and the Treehouse. You can find out where the bus will be at next or even make a request to have them visit you via the Wichita Public Library website.
