First Look at Mariscos Tachin; the food truck for ceviche and aguachiles

Mariscos Tachin

If you love ceviche and aguachiles, there’s a new truck called Mariscos Tachin that you need to check out!

I was driving down Broadway and saw a grayish-black food truck parked that I’ve never seen before. Even though I had ribs and brisket in the smoker home, I had to stop by for the readers (and myself). As I approached the truck, the owner goes, “Eddy?”.

Come to find out, the owner of the truck is the cook who prepared ceviche and aguachiles at Wichita By E.B. Dinner Series 3 at Local Flavor Restaurant. I remember both dishes being excellent, and it confirmed the smart decision to pull over on Broadway to pick up some food to bring home.

While Mariscos Tachin’s menu also consisted of tacos, quesadillas, burritos, tortas, shrimp dishes and hamburgers, I opted for the two dishes I loved most from the owner.

I went with one order of ceviche and an order of aguachiles which were $17 each. When I arrived home, I was fully expecting the look that said, “Why would you bring home food when you know there’s a ton of meat ready for us in about two hours?”

But fortunately, some people weren’t willing to wait.

Feeling like a superhero, I opened both containers to reveal the gloriousness below. Keep in mind, it came with two bags of chips.

Everyone took a bite and the first words were, “Wow, that really hit the spot!”. Both ceviche and aguachiles dishes were exceptional; lots of flavorful acidity and just enough heat to get the sweat beads on your nose to work. We literally couldn’t stop and within 20 minutes, both containers were empty.

It’s some of the best food truck food I’ve had and cannot wait to go again.

I didn’t get any exact hours for Mariscos Tachin. But I was told two things, the truck will soon get a new wrap job with better signage and if you want to see if they’re open, call 316-207-7601.

And for what it’s worth, we did eat ribs and brisket about an hour and half later.
