First Look at San Cruditas Mexican Food

San Cruditas

While driving down West St., I saw a food truck called San Cruditas, parked at the Dollar General at 245 N. West St. I couldn’t help but notice the cool flashy graphics on both sides of the truck. Seeing as how I’ve never been to this one, I stopped by despite just having lunch an hour before.

San Cruditas was out of most seafood dishes, including ceviche and aguachiles when I arrived, so I stuck with a simple taco order.

I had two chicharron tacos and two adobada. It took maybe all of 5–8 minutes for my tacos to be done, and soon enough I was home to eat my second lunch of the day.

San Cruditas

Let’s keep this short and simple. The chicharron tacos were excellent! Some people may not like the texture of the chicharron, but I love it. And if you can get over the almost spongy-like texture, they are some of the most flavorful tacos. Paired with the green salsa from San Cruditas and my taste buds were in heaven.

The adobada tacos were a nice ending to the meal. They weren’t overly greasy, and had a slightly sweet aftertaste to them.

All in all, it was a brief yet delicious first visit to this newer taco truck in town. I’m not sure if they’ll always be outside the Dollar General on West Street. So you will want to follow them on Facebook to double-check before you go.
