Polka Pierogi: One of my favorite pop-ups of the year

Polka Pierogi

One of my newer favorite pop-ups is Polka Pierogi. They can typically be found Saturday morning at the Old Town Farm & Art Market.

As the name suggests, the business serves pierogi. The first time I stopped by the farmers market downtown, they were sold out. Fortunately, I heard they were going to be out at Central Standard Brewing for an event on another weekend and made sure to arrive 10 minutes early to get my hands on the popular Polish dish. I refused to miss out twice in a row.

Polka Pierogi had two different pierogi on the menu that particular day, a sauerkraut and kielbasa and then a jalapeño loaded potato pierogi. In true form, I made sure to order both options. They were 3 for $8 and 3 for $8.50 depending on the flavor.

I wish I had more time to spend that day at Central Standard Brewing because I certainly would have ordered more. I absolutely loved the sauerkraut and kielbasa pierogi. It’s basically a filled dumpling, and who doesn’t love dumplings? I always prefer savory to sweet and the kielbasa with the sauerkraut was perfect; rich in flavor with a sour punch at the end.

If you go, I implore you to order more than just six. As I’m sitting here typing all this, all I can think of is making it out to Old Town Farm & Art Market the next Saturday I can to order a dozen.
