There’s a new tamale truck in town! To those people who are big fans of the Mexican dish, Del Pueblo Tamales hopes to meet your expectations. We did not know about this truck until driving back from lunch and randomly seeing this at the corner of Douglas and Hydraulic. Despite just eating, we figured why not drop in to see this new locally owned truck.

We kept our order small and simple just to get a first look at what they had to offer. We just ordered two tamales (one plain and one smothered in chili verde) and one taco. Even with that small of an order, it took well over fifteen minutes. That time will certainly have to speed up if they want to earn more business.
The taco was rather bland and flavorless. Even with some of their green salsa, I wasn’t too satisfied. But what I did like was their tamale with chili verde sauce. For $2, the pure size of the tamale was a nice value. The flavor was there too.
While it was a random visit and a small order, the tamale alone was good enough to warrant a second visit for me to get a better idea of how good Del Pueblo Tamale actually is. I had a brief exchange with them and it looks like they are still trying to get the kinks out so maybe those service times will get better next time I go.
