ABOUT THE OWNERS
JJ is from Texas, while Millie is from around Clay Center, KS. They met in Emporia Kansas after Millie had finished school and JJ was still enrolled. Millie is a certified medical coder and currently works for Wichita Radiology Group, while JJ spent 12 years working for Laser Quest and recently traded that all in for Shave Ice and substitute teaching. In addition, JJ has been teaching private lessons on guitar, banjo, bass, ukulele, and violin for the past 5 years currently holding 17 students. Throughout their 15+ years of marriage, they both have shared a fondness for quality Shave Ice and are equally as passionate about quality and customer service!
ABOUT THE BUSINESS
The North Shore Shave Ice was started by friends of ours April 2014. In February of 2018 my wife and I purchased the business. My wife and I are currently in our second year of business. The North Shore is a Hawaiian Shave Ice truck that is bringing the island taste to the midwest. We shave ice right off the block and serve it with syrup direct from the islands. We pride ourselves in our soft snow like texture.
WHY THE BUSINESS WAS STARTED
I have always had an affinity for Shave Ice, Hawaii, and Hawaiian culture. I used to frequent the snow cone shacks in my hometown and quickly learned the difference between them all. After I bought my first shaver for my house, I learned how to make them and started talking about starting up a business. When our friends mentioned they were selling their snow cone trailer and business, my wife and I thought it was time to take the leap and see what lies ahead. The rest is delicious history in the making.

MOST POPULAR ITEM
Our most popular item is the Shark Attack. It is shave ice with a scoop of vanilla ice cream in the middle. The flavor is Blue Hawaii and Tigers Blood. It is topped off with Gummy Sharks and Sour Patch Kids.
