ABOUT THE OWNERS
Troy retired in 2015 as an Armament and Munitions Specialist (AKA Bomb Builder, hence The Bomb BBQ) 184th Intelligence Wing Kansas Air Guard McConnell AFB. Served 25 years in the military with three deployments.

Lia is a full time, hard working employee of Syndeo HRO and worked part time as the front lady, taking the money and explaining the food at the Bomb BBQ especially our BBQ parfait.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS
Our business is catering and food trucking. On the catering side we do all kinds of food such as bbq, Italian, Mexican, cajun, chinese, comfort food,sandwiches and soup. Our food truck, as of now, is exclusively BBQ.

We employ Veterans, spouses of Veterans, family members of Veterans. Our passion is supporting Passageways, Wichita’s Veterans Homeless shelter where 10% of food truck sales goes to and all catering tips as well. We want to start employing our homeless Veterans in the future.

WHY WE STARTED THE FOOD TRUCK
The love of cooking is what started our business. As a kid, Troy loved to cook as he watched his grandpa work the grill and old time smoker cooking steak and smoked turkeys. And then grandma working the pressure cooker canning fresh vegetables and showing off her oven skills making all kinds of food especially brisket. Time moved on as Troy joined the Kansas Air Guard in 1990. He, along with other service buddies, were asked to do most of the cookouts on base. Catering many parties, promotions and weddings of service members. Someone asked if our business was official, so we called it “Troy’s Free Catering.com”. As time went on throughout his military career and the war on terror began, he volunteered for three deployments. On one particular deployment he finally found the form to requisition steaks, charcoal and a grill and cooking began again by the Afghanistan border. In 2013 he was diagnosed with a rare bone marrow disease and was later discharged in 2015. So in 2016 the business began and was started up by his daughter Abbey, also another service member from the Kansas Air Guard.

Our catering menu is endless, we pretty much will make whatever your event needs.

MOST POPULAR ITEM
Layered in beans, pulled pork. Mac n cheese (which is so fattening it is nicknamed “Lipitor Lasagna “), bacon and mashed potatoes. You can add hot links and ribs when available.
