I’ve never reviewed a place like this and not sure I’m in any position to. Anything healthy is not my realm as I’m probably the last person you should be listening to when it comes to nutrition.

But I did stop by at the referral of a co-worker who really enjoyed her shakes so I stopped by. Inside was very calm and relaxing and had the look and feel of many downtown establishments in the area with their brick walls.

The staff gave me a rundown of what the place was about and what they offer. Since the scene is totally new to me, I had no idea what to order. But they had a fall menu on hand and since pumpkins are my thing, I went with their pumpkin pie shake.

They gave me an aloe shot to take before noting the health benefits. It was all like a foreign language to me but I took it. It was a little fragrant with a watery/syrupy texture and a small hint of aloe; not bad at all actually.

I paid for my shake which was $7, thanked everybody and walked out the door. I’m not entirely sure what the going rate for shakes are in Wichita so I have no baseline to go off of.

Now I’ve had A LOT of pumpkin flavored items throughout the month; some bad and some good. This was actually one of the better ones I’ve had. What I enjoyed was that it wasn’t so sweet. Nearly everything I’ve had pumpkin-related has been really sweet so this was a nice change. The flavor was toned down to a nice level and had a strong taste of what I thought was fiber. Regardless I liked it and finished it within minutes.

Seriously, don’t take much into my review as this isn’t my scene. I’m not going to comment on the health side of it because that’s beyond my knowledge base and I won’t pretend to act as if it is. I stopped by solely because I am psychotic about going to places I’ve never been to before. For what it’s worth, I really did enjoy the shake and would go back again to try something else.

If anything, this is a heads up to let you know there’s a place downtown that’s offering these products. So if you’re up to it, head over to 108 S. Emporia and check it out for yourself.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
