A new restaurant opened up at 911 E Morris St right off of Washington St called La Noria Bar & Mariscos. For the uninitiated bar is a place where alcohol is served and mariscos means seafood. So going into this first look, I knew immediately what I was going to order….. seafood.

When I arrived, they were only available for carryout. I stopped in and they didn’t have a menu available but had rotating pictures of food on a TV with no names or prices listed. It was certainly a different way of choosing what to eat, waiting for a picture of what looked good and hoping it was affordable.
Considering it was a mariscos, I knew they would have ceviche so I ordered that. It cost roughly $19 and it was a complete crapshoot what all was included or how big the portion size was.
It didn’t take long to receive my to go container. I hurried home and this was what I received.
In my to-go container was a huge heaping pile of ceviche. The picture doesn’t do it justice. While $19 was certainly a lot to spend on lunch, the portion size made up for it and seafood isn’t cheap so I didn’t mind.
The ceviche was quite fresh with a nice acidic blast that wasn’t so onion-y. I finished the entire container and was stuffed.
Like many mariscos around town, there were plenty of delicious options to choose from just looking at the continual rotating list of pictures. Unfortunately to try multiple dishes at most mariscos could get quite costly. So hopefully I can return and really venture out a little more.
For a first dish start, I enjoyed what I had enough to warrant a return visit.
