In the mood for some Italian, we decided to check out Marchello’s. Our visits there have been very hit-and-miss. The most recent stop was for their jambalaya pizza which was phenomenal. How would our latest visit go?

We went with a carryout order of Jambalaya Pasta and Lasagna. We picked up our order right when we were told it’d be ready.
Our to go order came with some bread which we didn’t even bother finishing. It was pretty stiff and not worth finishing.
Unfortunately the rest of the meal didn’t go well either. The jambalaya pasta was a big miss for me. The noodles were a bit tough and the sauce didn’t have much going for it. All of it was fairly bland. The biggest thing I could taste was the black olives which seemed to stick out. As for the protein, there wasn’t much in the way of shrimp, sausage or anything.
The lasagna suffered the same fate with the sauce being very bland. It wasn’t all that filling of a pasta dish either. Often times lasagna can be heavy in a good way. This just wasn’t satisfying.
Of our last three visits, the only memorable one was the pizza. Any other time, the Italian dishes left us wanting more.
