Two of my favorite restaurants in town have been closed for over a month, Buster’s Burger Joint and Gabby’s Peruvian Restaurant. With word coming out of many restaurants reopening, I was finally happy to hear some good news come from these two gems.
Gabby’s Peruvian Restaurant & Catering – 1002 S Seneca
Wichita’s only Peruvian restaurant reopens Friday May 8. Their hours will be from 12:30pm to 7:30pm for Friday the 8th and Saturday the 9th only. For now they will only offer carryout and delivery.
Buster’s Burger Joint – 1202 E MacArthur
On my list of top 5 burger restaurants in Wichita, this gem reopens on Wednesday May 13. There will be some big changes though there. The restaurant which already has limited seating will be reduced from 12 to 5-6 people. They do have outside picnic tables available.
Some changes you will notice. No more baskets. They will serve on the paper plates we used to use. No more cups and ice for you to touch. Pop will be offered cold from the two new coolers. They will distribute cups if you don’t like drinking from can. Plastic ware and condiments will be distributed by them. No more ketchup bottles on tables.
They will only allow 2 people at a time to be inside building to place orders. After ordering, if inside seats are not available you will be required to wait outside. They will bring order out to you. No “curbside delivery”. For call in orders you must come inside to pay and pickup.
