What to expect at The Gilded Cookie

A cookie shop has opened at 1328 E. Douglas in the former space of Cero’s Candies and Monica’s Bundt Cake. The Gilded Cookie celebrated their grand opening on Wednesday, and we stopped by briefly to get a quick look at what to expect.

The first thing you notice as you step inside The Gilded Cookie is a huge array of different cookies. It was a very festive display just in time for the Christmas holiday.

Everything was packed and sealed individually or in sets. With the pandemic going on, I’m sure that is a concern many people have. All the sugar cookies were priced around $3 in could be purchased in sets. They had a few boxes of a dozen cookies laying out. One I didn’t get a picture of consisted of twelve larger Christmas-themed cookies that went for, I believe $28.

There were also other cookies available such as my favorite, snickerdoodle. And to fit in with the current cocoa bomb craze, they had those too for $5.50 each.

They also have cinnamon rolls which was the sole reason I stopped by but sold out by the time I arrived.

I picked up a few cookies for my family. It was a cool little space that I hope to revisit soon with them. I’m not necessarily a sweets guys, but they all are. And I don’t really eat cookies all that often, so I’m not one that should really be reviewing it; cinnamon rolls is another story. Anyway, this is a space definitely worth checking out for all those with a sweet tooth. It’s right by The Spice Merchant and with the beautiful weather today, it was an easy nice stroll down Douglas.

Stop by and let me know what you think in the comments below.

Happy Dining,
