Picasso’s Pizzeria Revisited

We were on the hunt for pizza and decided to revisit a place that was in need of a revisited review. Picasso’s Pizzeria sits in the heart of Delano and serves New York style thin crust slices. One thing we haven’t done is tried other items on the menu so we spent our latest visit checking those items out as well.

On our visit, we had a carryout order that included a slide of their Kitchen Sink which included pepperoni, Italian sausage, black olive, white onion, mushroom, and green pepper. We also ordered some BBQ and buffalo wings. To make sure we weren’t hungry, we also went with their meatball sub.

Let’s start off with the Kitchen Sink. When I hear something being called Kitchen Sink, I think of everything being thrown on it. The slice I received felt bare bones and lazily and hastily put together. It was kind of disappointing to see so much empty space. To make matters worse, it tasted very dry. In past years, I’ve been a fan of Picasso’s but this one was quite a let down and I hope this isn’t how the pizzas are on a consistent basis.

The wings were alright. The breading was a little on the soggy side and the flavors weren’t as pronounced as we would have liked. On the bright side, the wings had plenty of meat on them which was a big plus for us.

To end our meal, we finished everything off with The Baller aka meatball sub. This came highly recommended to me and one thing I probably would have liked to see is more sauce on it. It was mostly cheese, meatballs and bread which in most cases is nice but having that added sauce would have given it more moisture and zip. Other than that, it was a pretty typical sub for us.

I’m not sure if it was a bad day or what but most of what we had just didn’t give us the best impression. It’s too bad because (while it’s been a few years), our last experience with Picasso’s was a good one but this was certainly under par.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
