Goods Times & Good Vibes at The Stop

The Stop

As places begin to open up more and bars get back to their original closing time, I wanted to give some love to some of the bars I’m a fan of. One of them is The Stop. It’s an unpretentious bar located at 1450 S. Washington.

It’s a little off the beaten path from Old Town but worth the drive to have a drink at a bar where you don’t need to be concerned about anything but having fun. It also happens to be one of the best places in town, if not the best, to karaoke. They offer karaoke seven nights a week starting at 9 p.m.

When the weather starts to warm up, they have a fantastic patio at the east end of the building where you can occasionally find a game of cornhole taking place.

They have drink specials all the time and occasionally have food offerings from local vendors (stay tuned for that review!)

These days, I don’t frequent bars as much as I used to say 3+ years ago. The times I am able to get out, I only choose bars where I can show up in whatever attire, be low key, relax among friends, and be surrounded by people who are simply out to enjoy life. Often times, they are dive bars. And if you’re in the same boat as I am, The Stop is for you.
