It was Mother’s Day, so I asked Megan what she wanted for dinner and she chose sushi. We wanted to go somewhere we haven’t been to in a while and Ninza Sushi East came up. We’ve been to their west side location multiple times but only the east side once together. So, we sent out a message to some family members and made a revisit to the east side Ninza to grub on some delicious sushi.

Our end of the table started with a side of edamame and tuna tutaki. Edamame was good but it’s also hard to mess up. The tuna tutaki though was incredible. I loved how tender it was. The flavor was excellent and my only wish was for more of the glaze/sauce that it sat in.
Megan made the sushi roll choices and went with the Mango Shrimp Roll (spicy crab mix, shrimp tempura, asparagus, salmon and diced mango) and the Dragon Roll (crab avocado, baked fresh water eel).
To no surprise, both sushis were knockouts. The Mango Shrimp Roll was quite refreshing. It had a sweet fruity flavor that was quite lively. I’m not typically a fan of shrimp tempura rolls but loved the mixture of that with the spicy crab, diced mango and salmon was fantastic. The Dragon Roll was a great compliment to the Mango Shrimp Roll. One felt a more on the sweet side while this roll was a little more savory.

We had a great time and the service was phenomenal especially during a holiday with many diners.
