First Look at Mami Teri’s Mexican Kitchen

One of Wichita’s newest Mexican restaurants opened last week with Mami Teri’s Mexican Kitchen. With many new openings recently in Wichita, I wanted to make a quick pit stop over lunch to check it out.

Their menu found below offered a mix of tacos, gorditas, tortas, tostadas, etc. I went with a couple al pastor tacos and a couple lengua tacos. For safe measure, I added in a cup of elote.

It took roughly 15 minutes or so for my food to arrive.

Between the two meats, I was a bigger fan of the lengua. It wasn’t as overly tender as some places around town. There was a denser texture to it. The lengua had a very mild flavor to it. On the flip side, the al pastor was alright; it was a little dry for my preference. On a positive note, Mami Tere’s was very generous with the proteins. Each taco was piled high. My favorite part about the tacos though, were the shells. Each taco was a single shell tortilla that held up well throughout the meal. I don’t know what else to say besides, it was a really good tortilla that enhanced the meal for me.

Not much to say about the elote. It was your pretty standard affair. They had elote on a stick on the menu but was out of it that day.

The lady working the counter was very nice. I had a very limited encounter at Mami Tere’s, but for the brief moment I was there, I had only good things to say about the service.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
