I’ve been craving some prime rib and one place I haven’t ever had it at was B&C Barbeque. It’s available all day Friday until 9 p.m. and after 5 p.m. on Saturday. While the restaurant is uber popular for their buffet, I decided to pass on the all-you-can-eat affair and check out the weekend prime rib special.

Four different sizes of prime rib are available. I may be wrong, but I believe it’s 12 oz., 16 oz., 24 oz. and a whopping 32 oz. Regardless, I had the 16 oz. option for $34. It came with two sides and from the options given to me, I went with the garlic slaw and pasta salad.
Here was my beauty prepared rare.
Most pictures I’ve seen floating around had the prime rib come with a side of asparagus. I didn’t get any with mine that day, so I figured there must have been an asparagus shortage going on somewhere in the world.
The prime rib was a hefty piece of meat. Coming in at a pound, I knew I was in for a treat the moment it was placed on my table. It smelled wonderful.
But before I cut into it, I started with the sides. People always talk about how B&C’s garlic slaw is similar to Doc’s Steakhouse. For the record, it’s not whatsoever. B&C’s version is much creamier….. like 100 times creamier than Doc’s, which is totally fine if you like your slaw that way. It was very garlicky as expected. The pasta salad was alright. I typically prefer a less creamy version that’s doused in dressing. It basically comes down to what you’re looking for.
And the true winner of the meal though was the prime rib. It was prepared just as I had ordered. Slicing was easy, as it was incredibly tender. I enjoyed the outer crust which gave the dish some texture, but all I could focus on was the rare meat itself. It had a smokey flavor that was a hit with my taste buds. Cutting into the prime rib released more of the smokey aroma that engulfed the meal. While it may not be a hit with most people, I’d wear that scent as a cologne any day.
I already know people are going to ask in the comments, so I’m just going to answer it here. Is this the best prime rib in town? I’d put B&C’s prime rib is in my top three. Number one would still go to Bite Me BBQ. But decide for yourself, and give them a try to see what you think.
