With the new year, that means Fish & More has released a new menu to kick off the year. They’ve been one of my favorite restaurants around town, and one I try to visit every few months. It’s a hot spot for catfish and my go-to spot when I’m craving it. That craving came around once again, so I figured why not revisit Fish & More to give them more online love.

The menu at Fish & More consists of whole catfish dinners, shrimp, catfish nuggets, buffalo fish ribs, chicken wings, hot links, baby back ribs, livers, gizzards, and even smoked turkey legs. Recently, they added bone-in fried pork chops which are available on Thursdays. It’s a who’s who of comfort foods all under one roof.
On my most recent visit, I decided to load up on food. I had the whole catfish meal with yams and greens, an additional buffalo rib and a side of ribs. Wichita Cheesecake Company sells their cheesecake there, and I couldn’t pass up on the strawberry margarita flavor.
The weather was nice enough that I was able to enjoy my lunch on their patio that sits right in front of their building.
This was a feast fit for a king or queen or, in my case, pauper. There’s just something about that catfish that speaks to my soul. It’s lightly breaded, well-seasoned, and simply delicious. The fish was flaky in a good way so it didn’t fall completely apart. To be honest, the sides were a bit of a letdown that afternoon. That was the first time I’ve felt that way on my many visits, so for now, I’m chalking it up to a one-off instance. The buffalo ribs were just as good as the catfish. While the ribs weren’t on par with many of the dedicated BBQ spots around town, it was still a satisfying addition to my meal.
…and the cheesecake was one of the best ways to end my meal; just the right sweet ending to a savory, heavy meal.
Fish & More encourages call in orders as everything is made fresh. Luckily, I dropped in when they weren’t too busy. My order took around 10 minutes; it can get worse though if they get slammed right after people get off work. And when it comes to down to earth friendly people, Fish & More has all that too. I love going in and saying, “what sounds good today?” Their eyes light up and are quick to throw out many suggestions. I love that as it really speaks to their passion and love of what they are serving.
Don’t forget to like them on Facebook to see their specials and more.
