If it’s one restaurant I’ve been going to for years, it’s NuWay. With multiple locations in town, the one I try to frequent the most is the original spot in Delano at 1416 W. Douglas.

The original reason for our visit was due to the heat. We wanted a frosty, cold beverage, and a root beer float sounded like the perfect answer. On top of having the best root beer on this side of the galaxy, NuWay also makes a mean root beer float.
From there, we each ordered a NuWay burger with curly fries. I do miss their tater tots, though. Their motto, “crumbly is better” can be a hotly debated topic among foodies. I love it. There’s just something about the crumbly beef, pickles, onions, and mustard that sing sweet melodies to my taste buds. The curly fries are alright, and sometimes an afterthought once I have my burger in one hand and a mug in the other.
Is crumbly better? That’s for you to decide. I won’t say it’s better than a regular burger, but it sure does hit the spot when I crave it.
And in the case that crumbly isn’t your thing, please don’t stop yourself from getting the world’s best root beer.
