Revisiting Casey’s General Store for Lunch

Casey's General Store

I was right by a Casey’s General Store and decided, “why not revisit them for lunch?”

For this particular visit, we had the limited-time BBQ brisket pizza from their north Tyler location.

This limited-time offering, was advertised as:

Our new BBQ Brisket Pizza starts with our made from scratch dough and topped with BBQ sauce, smoked chopped brisket, jalapenos, red onions, real mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, and finished with a ranch drizzle. This pizza is available for a limited time, so get it while you can!

At $15.99, I figured it couldn’t hurt to try. I pulled up the app on my phone and was given a $4 off coupon, which made my total $12.99. Within 15 minutes, my pizza was ready for pickup.

Casey's General Store

This was probably one of my favorite pizza’s I’ve had from Casey’s. As far as gas stations go, these are definitely in the upper echelon of that category. The crust had a nice little seasoning on it and the pizza was quite delicious. There were decent-sized chunks of brisket spread throughout and I particularly loved the inclusion of the ranch drizzle, which gave the whole blend of toppings a vibrant, dilly aftertaste. All in all, a job well done.

Now, I’m sure some BBQ restaurants could do a much better job of a brisket-style pizza. But for an impromptu, spur of the moment meal, this hit the spot for us.

Here’s their menu:

Happy Dining,
