If you’re in northwest Wichita, where do you go for donuts? I decided to drop by Lamar’s Donuts. Since they have other locations around town, I’m already quite familiar with their sugary goodness. With their hours starting at 4 a.m. on the weekdays, this is a convenient stop for anybody out west looking for donuts anytime in the morning.

When I arrived, there were still plenty of donuts to choose from and more in the back. It’s always nice to have a big selection. But then there is a problem with a big selection. Do you ever give your kids an option and they spend what feels like an hour saying, “Uhh….. um….. I want….. uhhh…. um…… I think…” That’s probably what the person behind the counter feels like when I’m trying to pick donuts.
In the end, I went with two different Bavarian creme donuts, an orange donut, glaze, powdered and a pumpkin spice. It’s never too early for pumpkin spice anything.
I started my day with one of the Bavarian creme donuts and the pumpkin spice that came with a cream cheese frosting. Both were outstanding. The others were shared with friends and family, who all devoured theirs in seconds as well.
I’ll be out in northwest Wichita a little more in the following weeks, so would love to hear what other fantastic donut options there are. Chime in below.
Here’s their menu:
