On our Dining by the Children’s Alphabet feature, we decided to try breakfast for the next letter in the alphabet, E.
Since we were near downtown, we decided to check out Egg Cetera at 242 N. Mosley St.
Located right in Old Town, this eatery focuses on American breakfast and brunch classics with some Mexican-inspired items. The kids’ menu, for kids 10 and under, featured pancakes, French toasts, and waffles.
I gave my daughter all the options and she chose a waffle with strawberries. We had to make sure it came with syrup, plenty of syrup; otherwise she probably would have raised hell.
Not long after, the waffle came out with everything a sugar-loving child would love. She asked to have the strawberries separated, which I did. After pouring a pool of syrup for her to dip the waffle pieces in, she was off to the races.
This is our fifth installment of the Dining by the Children’s Alphabet, and Egg Cetera was the first happy plate. She finished everything, which she knew would bring a smile to my face.
Quick sidenote: I did take a bite of the waffle because it smelled delicious. It tasted as good as it smelled.
So, Letter E was a very successful visit for us. A happy child, a happy plate and a happy dad.
