With it being National Pizza Day, I wanted to do something different from the norm. While there are plenty of pizza restaurants to choose from, I wanted a pizza I’ve never had before. On Thursdays only at Pig In Pig Out, they have a special BBQ pizza that’s only available once a week.
For $13.99, they offer a freshly cooked thin crust 12″ pizza loaded with pulled pork, hot links, ham, and 6 cheeses.
Even though it’s thin crust and 12 inches, the pizza was loaded with toppings. After a couple of slices, I could feel myself getting full and had to push myself to finish half of it. For $13.99, I had myself lunch AND dinner all it one.
To be honest, I rarely order BBQ pizzas because the sauce many restaurants use makes it too sweet and too often the BBQ isn’t the star of the show. Pig In Pig Out really nailed it. Everything I dislike about BBQ pizzas, they did a fantastic job of making a version that I adored. They were generous with the meats offered on the pizza, the sauce didn’t overshadow the meats, and the thin crust was picture-perfect.
Mark your calendars for Thursdays, as that’s the only day they have it. Lastly, they do sell out, so that is something to keep in mind.
