Looking for affordable kids meals around town? Every Monday and Wednesday, kids 12 and under eat for $0.99 at Firehouse Subs.
The kid’s combos lets your child choose meatball, smoked turkey breast, or Virginia honey ham with provolone, or grilled cheddar cheese. All sandwiches/subs are served with 12oz AHA! flavored water, dessert and a kid-sized fire hat.
I gave my daughter the option of what she wanted and she picked the grilled cheddar cheese option. My hope was that she’d venture out and go with a Virginia honey ham with provolone sub, but that wasn’t in the cards for her. We got all of this for under a buck.
My daughter finished most of her meal. I asked what was her favorite and she said the Rice Krispies treat followed by the fire hat.
The adults went with the New York Steamer and Spicy Cajun Chicken sub. Both were great, and the New York Steamer is one of my go-to options there. I do enjoy that they stuff the subs with plenty of meat.
Like many of the Firehouse Sub around town, the service at the Maize location was phenomenal. They do an impressive job at all the locations I stop by. Whoever is responsible for hiring and training deserves a round of applause.
