Let’s review Waffle House!

The American breakfast and lunch restaurant chain was founded in Avondale Estates, Georgia all the way back in 1955. Today, there are over 1,900 locations in 25 states in the United States. Many of them are located in the Midwest and South. While no location exists in Wichita, KS, we stopped by Olathe, KS to check it out.

For this review, we visited the location at 1455 E. Santa Fe St. in Olathe.

It’s been many years since I last stopped by a Waffle House. It may have been 7–10 years ago in Tulsa outside one of the casinos.

My body was primed for Waffle House. It was early morning post a long night and a concert.

Upon looking at the menu, I knew exactly what I wanted. I ordered the All-Star Special which included a two egg breakfast, waffle, and sausage (which could be traded out for bacon or city ham). It also included either grits or hash browns. I asked for hash browns, sausage, and my eggs over medium. For an extra $3.49, orange juice was included.

Everything hit the spot. All the food was prepared on the spot and was precisely what my body needed.

To add to my experience, the servers were fantastic. Not any one in particular, but all of them. Every server was engaging with any customer who came in. They chatted up many of the regulars; just all around good people with incredible attitudes.

I think a Waffle House would do well in Wichita, or even outside one of the casinos around town.

Happy Dining,
