The restaurant, who offers carryout, delivery, and limited dining via an outdoor patio, specializes in Nashville hot chicken sandwiches and hand breaded chicken. They’re located in an attached space at The Bullet Stop at 2625 W. Pawnee in southwest Wichita. The chicken can be ordered in different spice levels ranging from 0-6 to hit all taste buds. During the back-and-forth name change, I actually tried the sandwiches a few months back. Back then, I had a level 3 and 4 sandwich. My taste buds loved it, but my butthole did not… hours later. Chuck’s Hot Chicken definitely brought the heat, so I don’t even want to know what a 5 or 6 is like, nor does my butthole.

This go around, I ordered a Nashville hot chicken sandwich at a level 2, some drumsticks with a level 1. The lady taking my order suggested I get cheese curds so I had that along with a pink lemonade slush drink that was being advertised.

Chuck's Hot Chicken

Everything was fantastic. My chicken sandwich had a thick, juicy piece of chicken that just the right level of heat for my taste buds. What I loved even more were the drumsticks. I’m a sucker for a hefty drumstick with plenty of meat, and Chuck’s Hot Chicken nailed it; it was something I’d order again and again.

There was a lot to love during my visit to Chuck’s. Many delivery drivers picked up food, there was a line of people on top of that and everything ran smoothly. It didn’t take long at all for my order to arrive.

All the time it took for them to finally open, likely gave them time to get their processes lined up.

I’ll be back sooner than later.
