Revisiting Solly & Jude’s for the new loaded tots

Solly & Jude's

The downtown bar and restaurant, Solly & Jude’s, recently unveiled some new additions to the menu.

On top of the delicious sandwiches available, patrons can now get hot dogs and loaded tots, appropriately called hot totties.

I was headed to an event where I had to bring some shareable food, and figured tots would be a great finger food to share with others.

First off, I’m #TeamTots and enjoyed the tots on my first couple visits to Solly & Jude’s.

I arrived during happy hour when their regular tots, dubbed Scott’s Tots, were only $2 each. So, I went with the honey sriracha and garlic Parmesan ones. Then I had to try their new loaded tots, dubbed Hot Totties.

With five options on the menu, I went with the Pastrami Poutin which was house made pastrami gravy over pastrami, provolone and crispy tots. My other choice was the Spicy Pizza Tots, which were crispy tots with diced pepperoni and salami covered in a spicy basil tomato sauce and provolone cheese.

Solly & Jude's

Starting off with the Scott’s Tots, they are some of my favorite tots in town. They were perfectly fried with the right amount of crispy exterior with a pillowy soft interior. I’m a huge fan of the honey sriracha and have ordered them on every single visit.

The hot totties were an even bigger winner with my group. I wish I were a better photographer because the picture of the Pastrami Poutin doesn’t quite do it justice. These were phenomenal. You’re talking salty, savory, and creamy all in one bite. Then add the pastrami, and it’s an even heartier dish worthy of being a meal in itself.

The group was back and forth on the Spicy Pizza Tots. Part of it was they much preferred the Pastrami Poutin and for me, I found the the Spicy Pizza tots to be more sweet than spicy. There was plenty of cut-up pepperoni and salami spread throughout the dish to fill you up. Overall, a good dish but not what we were expecting with the spicy tagline.

If you are team tots or just looking for a nice appetizer to go along with a cold beverage, the new tots are definitely worth ordering next time you’re at Solly & Jude’s.

Here’s the new menu:

Happy Dining,
Eddy
