Back in September, Vorshay’s Cocktail Lounge opened in the former Fat Tony’s location. The owners did a fantastic job of renovating the space to give it a real Vegas cocktail lounge feel with dim lighting, velvet chairs and art surrounding the walls. They recently kicked off lunch service which runs from 11am – 3pm. I stopped by this week to get a quick glimpse of what you can expect.

Lunch Daily From 11am – 3pm
You can find the menu on their Facebook but that is still under construction so I’ve included pictures for you at the very end of this blog. It includes mostly salads, appetizers, finger foods and sandwiches.
Off the heels of one of the worst reubens I’ve had at a yet to be reviewed restaurants (that should be coming soon), I decided to go ahead give Vorshay’s a try. I opted out of fries and spent the extra three dollars to try their corn chowder soup; it was worth it.
The soup came in a mug and was rich and delicious. Corn chowder soup wouldn’t normally be my first option but I went with it and was glad I did especially on a cold afternoon day. The reuben was even better. There were freshly shaved sliced of corned beef with an optimal amount of Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, and thousand island dressing stuffed in between two perfectly toasted slices of marbled rye bread. The bread did an excellent job of keeping the sandwich together; at no point did it become soggy. The corned beef was fresh, flavorful and filling.
If this is how all the food at Vorshay’s Cocktail Lounge tastes like, I’ll certainly be coming back for more.
I loved the ambiance at Vorshay’s, it was definitely something a little different than many of the places downtown. Service was great with the food coming out in a decent amount of time over the lunch hour.
Here’s their menu.
