My sister-in-law gave me a heads up of a new item at Spangles she wanted to try. It doesn’t take much to twist my arm so I obliged.
The new Saucy Boneless Wings from Spangles began at the very end of 2018 and are still on the menu. They are advertised as premium all white meat, sauced to perfection and available in 4 delicious flavors – Buffalo Garlic Parmesan, Sweet Thai Chili, Honey BBQ and Oriental. A twelve piece meal costs $5.99 while the value pak with fries and a drink runs $8.69.
We ordered the twelve piece meal of all four different flavors. At the very first bite, my sister-in-law said she was surprisingly impressed with them. Sometimes you never know what you’re going to get from fast food offerings but the reviews were more on the positive side with my family on this one.
Of the four flavors, everyone seemed to enjoy them all with the exception of the Honey BBQ. It was very tangy; so tangy it made some eyes squint. The other three were great though. The sauces weren’t so vibrant; it meshed well with the wings. We don’t like it when the sauce sticks out so much. When sauces on wings offer a good level of flavor that’s not so subtle and not so strong, that’s when we really enjoy it.
While I’m not particularly a Parmesan fan, my brother found those to be his favorite. Everyone loved the Oriental and Sweet Thai fan but that shouldn’t be any sort of shock coming from our family. We really chowed down on those two.
For my family, they would order these again. Alongside the affordability and quick convenience of the drive-thru, it was something right up their alley. Just another win for Spangles to go along with their fries.
