First Look at Snack Shack in Andover

Some of you may remember Snack Shack. They were a food truck that has now opened their own little brick & mortar spot complete with a drive-thru at the southwest corner of Andover and Central in the former Sip ‘N’ Treats space. They service all sorts of meals that can easily be eaten on the go for breakfast and lunch. Let’s take a look.

While they have a drive-thru, I should add that you can also walk up to place an order which is what I did.

When they had their food truck, there was a big focus on BBQ, which inspired much of the menu. They have loaded spuds, hot dogs topped with all the fixings, cups of mac & cheese also loaded, and a breakfast menu.

For example, here’s a loaded mac cup stuffed with BBQ that a customer before me ordered.

On my visit, I decided to go with a pork’n spud which was topped with…. you guessed it… pork. I also ordered a side of biscuits and gravy because it’s nearly impossible for me not to.

The biscuits and gravy were great. I loved how soft the biscuits were; they were effortless to cut through. The gravy was a little on the runny side, but on the bright side had some nice chunks of sausage mixed in. If I were to go back, I’d definitely get that again.

The spud was loaded with pork, BBQ sauce, some jalapeƱos, and green onions. Typically, I like to eat my loaded spuds right away. I mean, any food is best eaten immediately, especially pizza rolls right out of the oven when they are piping hot. But since I took it home, I’m assuming that quality dropped a little as mine was a little dry. It was a hefty meal and loaded with everything to fill you up, but the potato didn’t quite do it for me.

The lady running was super delightful. You could feel the energy and excitement she had for every customer who came through. I have some family that live nearby, so I hope to bring them up there, which will give me a shorter distance to travel back with the food. I’d like to get one of their banger dog and chips along with a mac cup to see how those stand out.

I do wonder though if they’d get more business being open after school is out and in the early evening, compared to only for breakfast and lunch.

Here’s the menu:
