One of the new food trucks around town, mostly Valley Center, is Shurley Concessions. While they do make it out to Wichita, you’ll mostly find them out in our city neighbor to the north. The food truck’s menu covers mostly American fare with breakfast, burgers, nachos, chili pies and other concession-style foods.

With BBQ, I typically get a plate with multiple meat options but since it was a rally, I had to get smaller portions to be able to enjoy more trucks.
We tried to order a bit of everything on my visit. Our order consisted of biscuits and gravy, a breakfast burrito, hot links, and cheese fries. Everything was very affordable, priced well and came out fast.
I struggled with putting pen to paper when writing out my thoughts because after finishing my meal, I felt bad. The food simply didn’t resonate with our taste buds. The biscuits were very tough and overcooked; no problem with the gravy, though, as that was the best part. The hot links were dry, and the cheese fries were covered in a thick cheese sauce that left us underwhelmed. As for the breakfast burrito, it was decent. For a couple bucks, it was probably the best of everything we ordered.
I’m hoping it was just an off day for Shurley Concessions. I’ll try to make it back sometime this summer, but for what it’s worth, our first visit was a thumbs down.
