During a recent food truck rally visit, I made it a point to stop by Smokin Diner. They are one of the longer running mobile BBQ operations in town and ran by a very nice individual. It’s probably been 2-3 years since I last had their food, I did enjoy it and figured why not give them some more love.

With BBQ, I typically get a plate with multiple meat options but since it was a rally, I had to get smaller portions to be able to enjoy more trucks.
I went with the Carolina pulled pork sandwich with a side of homemade potato salad. The potato salad was very creamy; it was nice not to have store bought sides. As for the sandwich, though, that was a real winner of a meal. The pork was very tender and tasty, and the slaw really accentuated everything. I loved the tangy kick that countered the heaviness of the sandwich. It was a great combination.
It was a nice visit to Smokin Diner where they had long lines, but got all the food out to customers quickly. I was very happy with my meal and it all made for a delicious food truck rally evening.
