A cool little dessert shop has recently opened at the southwest corner of 13th and Woodlawn. LaSherie Nicole’s Cheesecake Boutique is no stranger to the Wichita market, but this is their first foray into a brick and mortar space.

When I dropped in, they were still getting things situated regarding the interior. There wasn’t a menu up yet or wall decor, but let’s face it. People will go here for the food, than to go look at a pretty menu that is displayed on a wall.
While LaSherie Nicole’s Cheesecake Boutique does have cheesecakes on the menu, it should be noted, they specialize in a different type of cheesecake than what most are familiar with.
It’s not the dense, thick cheesecake, but more of an ice cream type creamy cheesecake served in a cup.
Their selection of flavors, which can be found online, include a classic, Reese’s, Snickers, Oreo, Kit Kat and strawberry. There’s also specialty cups such as strawberry shortcake, cinnamon toast crunch, and apple pie tart.
The cheesecake cups run anywhere between $5.99 and $9.99.
I ordered a handful of them for my family. We had strawberry shortcake, cinnamon toast crunch, Oreo and Snickers.
My family LOVED them. Our kids especially devoured the cups. They aren’t huge cheesecake fans, but this was a style they were able to get down on. I had the strawberry shortcake and loved the creaminess of it. One of the kids made sure to let me know, he wanted me to go back to get more.
Sometimes I wish there was a different term than “cheesecake” because when people see these, they’ll inherently expect a traditional one.
After reading some comments online, I get there’s some sticker shock about the price, but we felt they were worth it. I rarely try to comment on prices because I think businesses should charge what they feel is fair value, and many consumers rarely know the costs or margins involved with getting a business up. Plus, how many restaurant owners do we know in town becoming millionaires?
Go get yourself one of LaSherie Nicole’s cheesecakes in a cup. Hopefully, your taste buds will enjoy them as much as we did.
Happy Dining,
Eddy
