Get your funnel cakes at Pat's Concessions

With the River Festival canceled and the chance the Kansas State Fair is a no go, I’ve been trying to get my hands on some funnel cake. As an avid attendee of both events, I needed to get my fix in. Insert Pat’s Concessions.

I was given a heads up they’ve been parked out at Splash Aqua Park this summer. While the food truck is a mobile one and can be rented out, your best bet has been the south side water park.

So with this information in hand, I swung out to Splash Aqua Park and ordered my much anticipated funnel cake. It was the best $7 I’ve spent in a long time and unlike the River Festival, I didn’t have to buy tickets to get this.

The aroma alone was worth it. I’m not sure what’s better than a freshly fried funnel cake…. well I’m sure a lot of things are but for that one moment in time, it was the best ever.

My only regret was not bringing my swim trunks as it was probably a great day to be out in the water.

In the end though, I still felt like a winner with funnel cake in hand.

Who I did feel bad for was the sweet lady running the concession stand. I was talking to her and she left one of her fans at home and it looked like it was 100 degrees inside that trailer. Fortunately she said the wind was picking up so it was getting some much needed circulation inside there.
