New this year, Pickle Jam will also feature a recreational cornhole tournament.

Taste of Newton | September 30
Taste of Newton is BACK this year, and we are so excited to have a night filled with yummy food and a whole lot of fun! So, mark your calendars for September 30th, because from 6:00-9:00 pm you can come downtown and enjoy the flavors of Newton. Chester’s Chophouse Patio Grand Opening | September 30
Their new patio will be unveiled via a grand opening celebration on Thursday, September 30 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The grand opening is a ticketed event that cost $500 per person, which is a benefit for the Wichita Children’s Home.

Food Truck Thursdays at Exploration Place | September 30

Wichita River Festival | September 30 – October 3
Wichita Riverfest started nearly 50 years ago as a way to celebrate and unify the community during Wichita’s Centennial. Now, the jam-packed, fun-filled event is the largest, longest-running, and most anticipated festival in the region. Normally a nine-day celebration, this year’s festival takes place over two extended weekends in an effort to keep attendees safe. The fall event will look more like the traditional Riverfest celebration with the return of the food court, headliner concerts, fireworks, the Sundown Parade and more.

McAlister’s Deli Grand Opening in Derby | October 1
McAlister’s Deli will open its doors in Derby, Kansas at 2425 North Rock Rd. Derby, KS 67037 at 10:00 a.m. And to celebrate the grand opening, the location will be giving away Free 30-Day Tea Passes to the first 50 guests who place a pick-up window order through the McAlister’s app or website. There will also be a performance at 9:30 a.m. on opening day by the Derby High School Drumline and activities like a Face Painter who will be at the restaurant from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Ahead of the grand opening, the Derby restaurant will host Donate to Dine benefitting Kansas Food Bank. Guests who make a donation to Kansas Food Bank will receive a complimentary meal on us. This will take place on Thursday, September 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Stage , bands, $3-4 German beers. Bloomin Idiots and Marshall Law start at 6. You would know a lot of past classmates. Great times. 18th annual. And the money goes to St Vincent DePaul for the poor.
